Overview
The Pill Club is an online service that offers prescriptions for birth control with care packages including extra goodies. The service is HIPAA-compliant and recognized by pharmacy boards to prescribe medication. It is free with insurance (you can even transfer your existing prescription to their pharmacy) and only $3.99 without insurance.
Description
On The Pill Club’s website, users can answer health questions, get a consultation with a member of the team of doctors and nurse practitioners, and select the birth control that is right for them. The birth control will then be delivered to the user (with free shipping) along with surprise gifts like tampons, stickers, and chocolate. The Pill Club delivers to all 50 states and can prescribe birth control in states where that is allowed.
Insurance
The Pill Club works for anyone – whether or not you have health insurance. They accept most insurance plans and select Medicaid plans, while allowing users to transfer existing birth control prescriptions to their pharmacy. Users without health insurance can use the service for only $3.99 and still get access to their healthcare team.
Types
Despite the name, The Pill Club does not only offer birth control pills. In addition to the 100+ brands of pills, they also offer the NuvaRing. They do not offer IUDs or any implants that need to be administered by a doctor. Users can also request emergency contraceptive to be used as a backup method.
